Your bedroom will be a relaxing, harmonious and beautiful retreat. Small or large, it doesn’t matter. The cabinetry is scaled to the proportions of the room. When designing bedroom storage, Sally’s interior cabinetry space management really comes to the fore in saving floor space and adds dimension by breaking typical floor to ceiling wardrobes with horizontal surfaces like dressing tables and window seats. Considered design has your bedroom feeling more spacious and original, and with Sally’s focus on interior space planning, you won’t sacrifice storage, or organisation
There is no area of your home that you can’t apply this theory, many of our clients have re-designed the entire interior of their homes and built it around their lifestyle. They invested in their home, so that every area compliments their life.
After your wardrobes are installed the repeated re-tidying stops. Everything just stays where you put it because the shelves are sized to your garments. With your items stored right where you can see them and comfortably reach them just dumping them makes no sense. Your family can put clothes away willingly because there’s no back, knee, eye or time strain, so it gets done. No more tossing clothes or crawling for shoes. No more toppling, T-shirt piles twenty high or “weird tetra folding”.
If you are planning a walk in wardrobe it is ideal to get us involved early in the renovation process so that we can assist you to save space in adjoining rooms, maximise space in the walk in wardrobe, and ensure you have provision for lighting.
Sally was extremely thoughtful with our bedroom storage situation. Rather than suggesting a simple additional built-in, that would have made the space look smaller, she came up with a cost-effective way of redesigning our existing built-ins, and even hooked us up with a very competent trade person to do the actual job. The whole thing came in significantly under our budget and we are very happy with the finished product. We now have plenty of storage, and the room looks much nicer!Alyx GormanSydney N.S.W
Once your clothing calculations are done, Sally then works on the ergonomics in tandem with aesthetics. If you have the benefit of a decent size space, it can be enhanced considerably by what is put where.
For example, in a walk in wardrobe the tallest and most imposing items will be behind the door or furthest from the entrance, this will prevent feeling overshadowed by these items as you enter. Considering the traffic flow in the space is important too in a shared space such as main bedroom or a walk in wardrobe. For walk in wardrobes, considering fade potential from windows and the doors/no doors needs to be resolved prior to designing.
Wardrobe accessories according to your needs and behaviour are considered. Valet hooks are great for planning a trip away so that you can hang your clothes as you prepare your outfits. A row of handy hooks for the dog walking clothes that you can’t be bothered folding, belt/tie/scarf racks, laundry hampers, slide out packing benches for luggage and mirror.
Finishes and lighting are next. Will it be a luxury walk in wardrobe with feature materials and handles? Or a basic economical option? LED, dimmable lighting can be integrated throughout the walk in wardrobe and operated by motion sensor to highlight all your clothing as you enter.
Is the piece going to be a focal point in the room, or does it need to be cleverly tucked away?
What will you be storing in the unit? What might you want to store in the unit down the track?
Are you looking for a long-lasting, heavy-duty finish, or is the look of the finish more important to you?
Think about the colour and height options available, and the effect this might have on the overall feel of the room. We try to avoid dark coloured pieces in rooms where space is at a premium and only recommend them for bigger spaces.
